Poor Little Bird
There are no words to describe
the pain that he causes
Her tears fall like sheets of rain
they fall without pauses
He throws the bird his day old bread
anticipation sure to fill her
One day that old bread don't come
starvation nearly kills her
He gathers his bread crumbs once again
and throws them to the bird
Again, she anticipates what little he gives
not realizing what occurred
He wants to keep the bird coming back
until he may one day need her
He gives her his crumbs once in a while
but she can't survive off what he feeds her
He's been feeding other birds her bread
each day after she flies away
He has all the dirty birds in his yard
he prefers things to go this way
Fly, beautiful bird, fly off to a better place
someone will appreciate your beauty
Fly, bird, find a new place to find your food
they will see you as a gift, not as a duty

Scatter my ashes randomly ashore
In farthest reaches of sea wall
Tide welcome and claim me, yours
When no more, sea shells be still
Seagulls be ever watchful to sunset
Cling fast to green, mossy driftwood
Feel dampened rush of saltwater
blue,
Leaving imprints upon the sand
Pondering dreams and fantasies
Never meant to be fulfilled
Follow me, oh sea birds, fly
Make haste before yellow sunrise
Ashes flowing to another shore
Where I am alive and forever free
